Mencicipi Windows 8 Beta

Sistem operasi windows 8 besutan Microsoft ini akhirnya sudah bisa kita uji coba kedahsyatannya serta kemampuannya. Bagi pengguna dan penggemar Windows, tentu dengan adanya sistem operasi Windows 8 yang masih dalam status beta ini bisa menjadi awal test drive untuk mengetahui lebih dalam fitur-fitur baru dan keunggulan yang tertanam dalam Windows 8 ini.
Rilis Windows 8 dalam versi full version ini rencananya dilakukan pada April 2012 namun pihak Microsoft memberikan kesempatan awal bagi developer applikasi untuk membuat aplikasi dan program untuk Windows 8 ini sehingga karena inilah Microsoft merilis versi betanya.
Microsoft membagi 3 download link windows 8 dengan 3 versi yang semuanya berbahasa Inggris yaitu :

• Windows Developer Preview with developer tools, 64-bit: A 4.8-gigabyte download, this version includes Windows 8 Developer Preview operating system with a Windows software developer kit for Metro style apps made up of Microsoft Visual Studio 11 Express and Microsoft Expression Blend 5, as well as 28 preview apps.

• Windows Developer Preview, 64-bit: A 3.6-gigbyte download, this version is made up of just the Windows 8 Developer Preview OS and the 28 preview apps — no added developer tools

• Windows Developer Preview English, 32-bit: The smallest of the bunch, this 2.8-gigabyte download includes the Windows 8 Developer Preview OS and the 28 preview apps.

Fitur dan Keunggulan Windows 8 :
kemampuan bootingnya yang super cepat bahkan bisa lebih cepat dari hidupnya monitor pc kita saat ini. Waktu Booting wndows diperkirakan hanya 8 detik. Tak ada lagi flashing layar BIOS. “Tak ada karakter aneh yang terlihat windows 8 saat dihidupkan. Lebih aman saat booting, Windows 8 dilengkapi dengan Secure Boot yang bekerja dengan BIOS berbasis UEFI sehingga bisa melindungi PC dari malware saat booting.

Windows 8 juga mendukung chip ARM yang banyak dipakai di perangkat tablet juda bukan hanya bisa dipakai di pc tapi juga bisa digunakan untuk Tablet.

• 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
• 1 gigabyte (GB) RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
• 16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
• DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver
• Taking advantage of touch input requires a screen that supports multi-touch
• To run Metro style Apps, you need a screen resolution of 1024 X 768 or greater

Notes about installing the Windows Developer Preview

• You can’t uninstall the Windows Developer Preview. To reinstall your previous operating system, you must have restore or installation media.

Karena Windows 8 masih dalam tahap uji coba, maka saya sarankan untuk menginstalnya pada komputer yang memang bukan komputer atau laptop utama Anda yang berisi data-data penting. Lebih baik pada komputer atau laptop yang jarang anda gunakan. Jika Anda hanya memiliki satu komputer dan itu adalah komputer utama Anda….sebaiknya pertimbangkan untuk menginstal windows 8 beta release karena memang masih banyak bug yang perlu diperbaiki.
